About VISG

The ALG has established a volcanic impacts study group (VISG) to focus on research into the impacts of volcanic hazards on lifelines. This group operates as a sub-committee of ALG and seeks to recommend projects ALG (or others) may wish to undertake to reduce the vulnerability of lifelines to volcanic hazards.

The VISG charter can be downloaded from the document table below.

VISG holds an annual seminar to improve knowledge of, and stimulate research on the impacts of volcanic hazards on infrastructure and mitigation by providing a forum for scientists and lifelines organisations to discuss latest research and research needs.
